VIVA Rugby Launches In-House Rugby Shorts Project Backed by Player Insight

VIVA Rugby Apparel has officially kicked off development on its first in-house line of rugby shorts, marking a major step in its mission to deliver gear built for players, by players. The new project is fueled by direct feedback from athletes across all levels of rugby — from grassroots warriors to elite-level competitors.

Currently in the testing phase, the VIVA Rugby team is experimenting with various fabric blends, stitching techniques, and color palettes to ensure performance, comfort, and durability are all taken into account. But what truly sets this initiative apart is the player-centric approach being taken.

“We didn’t want to just slap a logo on a pair of shorts and call it our own,” said a spokesperson from VIVA Rugby. “This is about building something that reflects real feedback—how the shorts fit on different body types, how they perform under pressure, and what today’s rugby player truly needs.”

Before any commercial release, VIVA will be crafting a custom batch of prototype shorts for a hand-selected group of players. These will be tailored to fit their specific builds and preferences, helping refine the design to its most functional form. Once these wear-test evaluations are complete, VIVA Rugby will move toward releasing its first commercial set of rugby shorts—designed with every lesson learned from the testing process.

This move aligns with VIVA Rugby’s long-term goal of redefining rugby gear for a new generation, blending style with function, and ensuring athletes of all levels are equipped with gear that performs just as hard as they do.
